Personal work, freelance jobs and my favourite uni projects!

RICOH BOOK – EVERYTHING ABOUT ONE THING PROJECT

A book I produced for the uni project called ‘Everything About One Thing’. I decided to centre my project around me, my dad and photography, specifically looking at a range of pocket cameras called ‘Ricoh’ cameras which we have both used to do a lot of photography. This was one of my most favourite projects which ended up as a professionally finished, final product. I also found this to be one of the most challenging projects I have ever done because I had to gather my own content, arrange and design everything as well as write a competent narrative whilst being my own editor. Taking on all of these roles myself, helped me gather a lot of knowledge, experience and understanding which has helped me conceptually develop and understand all of my later projects.

JUST FOR FUN!

Here are some pieces of work which I have produced for fun, or never made it into any of my finished projects. These are pieces that I ended up liking just by themselves!

TUDOR HOUSE ILLUSTRATIONS – REVITALISING THE TUDOR HOUSE’S APPEAL TO A YOUNGER GENERATION

A set of illustrations I carried out for The Tudor House in Worcester. After touring around the property, consulting the learning officer and taking photos of points and items of interest myself, I set to work revitalising The Tudor House’s appeal to young people and children to help them become more engaged with history and the past. As well as rejuvenating The Tudor House’s mascot, I created my drawings to help children look out for specific item and engage as well as leaving the images without colour so children could colour them in.

LAUFMASCHINE – SELF BRANDING

Laufmaschine was a company set up by me and my friend Meloy Kelly out of our love of bikes where we aimed to restore old bikes and sell them on as well as offer a maintenance service. I designed the logo, stickers and business cards for our business.

SCREEN PRINTS

Throughout my years of doing graphic design I have tried a variety of different processes, screen printing is one of my favourite. Here I have produced a range of prints showing a woman with a jacket inspired by a Marc Jacobs model that I drew, monoprinted and finally screen printed. Alongside that I have some posters celebrating the anniversery of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, where I experimented with text compositions and hierarchy. These were also screen printed.
